Would you believe . . . . .

It is snowing in Vegas, yes you heard me right it is snowing in las vegas! Pretty crazy I know but it has been lightly falling for almost 5 hours now. There is actually about 2 inches accumulated everywhere. It looks pretty wrong to see palm trees being weighed down with it but Logan sure had fun playing in it today. We were glad we had a coat for him to wear, (thanks to handmedowns from our cousins, we love it!) So we thought we'd share a bit of our excitement with you in case you didn't believe it when you heard. I didn't believe it myself when came and told me that it was snowing, I didn't think he would remember since he was 18 months when we left Cedar. So we may get to share in a white christmas this year too.

santa came to town

Logan got pretty excited when we told him Friday night that tomorrow we were going to go see Santa's house. He kept asking us if he had cars and trucks so we told him he could ask him.

Layne and I were glad that we got there early enough to be second in line, well we were the first but we knew we couldn't keep him contained standing outside the door waiting for 20 minutes and someone else had our same idea but I still wont complain about being second.

Logan went right up to him and sat on his lap and asked him his question, " Santa" didn't say much but got a kick out of him for sure. We were skeptical as to how Annika would be for her first visit to a man with a big white beard but we sat her on his lap so she never saw who was holding her and sat there as content as could be. It was a bit of a challenge to get them both to look at the camera at the same time but we were happy with this one, as at least they were both looking the same way, even if it wasn't at the camera. I think Layne and I are starting to get just as excited to see santa now that we know how much fun Logan has.

Its December!!!

So yes, the christmas festivities have begun at our house and we are all very exctied for the christmas season and all that it brings with it.
Logan has had fun getting in on the action too by making frosty (courtesey of grammie! ) on our dishwasher, the fridge was too full of his preschool pictures so we have migrated to other magnetic spaces. Layne helped us get the tree up and twinkling which is my favorite part of decorations. We have been enjoying playing christmas music almost all day and Logan is having fun watching rudolph and frosty movies.
Annika has started on her rice cereal which means lots of mess but it sure makes for cute pictures. She likes to eat it but it has been giving her tummy aches so we are gradually getting used to it but it sure makes me feel like she is getting big too fast, she is 4 months now and it sure has gone by fast.
So we hope that everyone else pulling out the boxes from the garage and enjyoing this special time of year too.

Quiet Time

So this is what my kids are doing when I am on the computer. Since Logan stopped napping, which was actually too long ago, we have established our "Quiet Time" routine which still works quite nicely. I put Annika on our bed for her nap and Logan in their room to read books and listen to kid songs which he loves. I am glad that he loes to read and has fun going to the library. We hope that he can set a good example for Annika who already loves to watch him. I am glad for quiet time as it is usualy the only break I get from both kids in the day for a half houror so. It is quite blessed to have quiet time!

Happy Halloween

Trick or Treat

We sure had a wonderful night of trick or treating with our kids and Katie and Ryan.

Logan was sure excited this year; he was definetly getting into it and we could hardly contain him inbetween houses. We got him started at the ward trunk or treat last week and then he was pretty stoked when he realized that he got to do it again. It was great to watch him have so much fun but I am not so thrilled about all the candy that he has, way too much for a 3 year old but I guess mom and dad can help him with that!!
We thought they sure looked cute in their steelers get out; Logan thought his "football guy" was pretty cool and Annika was an adorable biggest fan.

He keeps asking if we can go trick or treating again; I think that he is already looking forward to next year, (maybe we'll still have some of his candy then by the looks of things :))
Hope that you had just as fun a night as we did. Until next year, Happy All Hallows Eve

Fun Week

Here is some fun stuff from this week. We had a fun trip to the park, just the 3 of us. Now that I am brave enough tto venture out, it is fun to watch Logan run all over and have fun just being a little boy. He loves playing in the dirt and running around to all the trees. I think he has been having more fun doing that recently that actually playing on the equipment.
We have also captured some funny Annika faces too. She likes to try and be a big girl and sit up on the couch but she'll launch herself forward and fall on her face thus folding herself in half but she sure gets a kick out of it. As soon as we straighten her back up she'll try again. She has figured out that bath time can be fun too and loves to watch herself in the mirror. My favorite part is getting her all wrapped up in her towel so that all you can see are her big blue eyes and funny little smile. It is so cute. So we thought we should shar the fun we have been having with our two little cuties.

So like everyone else in American right now, we have been trying to keep up with the presidential campaign and trying to decide who we think would be best suited to be our next president. But I am not just talking about Layne and I; Logan has decided to get in on the fun too. Just this last week he has pointed out to us that he knows who John McCain is, when he say a picture of him on our readers digest and now walks around saying, "I'm John McCain . . . and I approve this message." We sure got a kick out of it. So when we realized how keen on this he was, we naturally had to make him bipartisan and made sure that he knew how to recognize and say Barack Obama too. So when ever any of thier ads come on he'll make sure we know which one he sees and we just have to laugh, but it sure has become a much more fun way to not be so serious about the situation and we just hope that who ever does become president will be a good change for our contry.

Happy Voting Everyone

Office Party

Yes these t-shirts do say what you think they say - pretty awesome if I do say so myself!!! Layne got these for my birthday and I was totally excited. We had a great party with Katie and Ryan who came over to celebrate the return of Season 5 which we all have been eagerly anticipating for quite some time now. But I had to post these pix that we snagged, and share the fun we had with you. Even Logan was pretty excited about his new "Michael" shirt as he calls it and loves to watch it with us which is great since we have it on a lot! So to all you Office fans out there, here is to a great season!!!

Blessing Day

This past Sunday was a very special day for our family, it was Annika's blessing. We were so glad that we were able to have friends and family come and share in that special day for us and for all the effort that so many made on our behalf. We had a great time at the park playing, eating and visiting and wanted to share some of the grat pictures that we were able to get of our daugher in her beautiful white dress and the kids playing. That dress was very special to me as it was the same dress that I wore on my blessing day and that my mother made for me. It will be a memory for both her and I to share together.
We had a wonderful weekend and made lots of fun memories that I hope I will always remember.

I think that Logan had a little too much fun in the water sprayer but it did make for some fun pictures. We were glad that the weather was nice enough to enjoy some time outside and were just grateful for all the support of our family to make the weekend possible.
